Beach Horseback Ride and River Tubing
After meeting and greeting your driver/tour guide, you will be transported to a private beach where your Beach Horseback Ride and Swim adventure will begin. You will be greeted by the eager staff of Sand and Saddle, the Horseback Ride facility, who will be waiting to show you a good time. You will receive a safety briefing before setting out on your ride. Helmets are provided and are mandatory to be worn. The ride will be a single file ride. Your ride will be slow along the trail as most riders are not experienced. There will be places along the way where the horses will be able to trot a little. Your guide will point out the variety of local vegetables grown by farmers on the rural trail, which will lead you onto a stretch of white sandy beach, where you will experience the tranquil beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Next is a trail that takes you back to the private beach. On arrival at the beach the guides will assist you to dismount your horse so that you can get ready for the swim before you strip down to your bathing suits, for a dash through the waves on horseback.We do not keep the saddles on for the swim. We take them off but we use a bareback pad. Enjoy this once in a Lifetime experience of swimming on your horse in paradise. With this experience you will enjoy riding the horse for approximately 45 minutes, which includes the swim section of approximately 5 minutes. Please remember to wear swimwear water shoes/sneakers and to bring towel (swimsuit can be worn under your clothes). Proper attire long pants /shorts just below the knees, water shoes/ sneakers, remember to bring a towel. Bare legs are not recommended, however if you do wish to ride in shorts above the knee then the guides will put the towel over your saddle for you to sit on so that your legs will not rub or get pinched by the saddle.
Strick weight limit of 230 pounds. General weight checks are done and anyone over 230 pounds will NOT be able to do the ride and your cost is nonrefundable. Sandals are not recommended. Big bags like backpacks are not allowed on the ride. We suggest a fanny pack or small bag that can go across your shoulder in front of you (nothing bulky), in case you would like to carry cash and your phone/camera.
Your adventure begins as you are greeted by one of your river guides upon arrival. Your tour guide directs you to the registration office for check in and mandatory signing of a waiver form. After signing the waiver form, you will be given a helmet and led outside to be fitted with your life jacket and propulsion gloves. You receive some final safety instructions from your tour guide and then follow him across the IRIE Bridge and into the rainforest. Your 10 minute walk along the jungle path leads you to the launching point of your river adventure. Now it's time to jump into the cool water and begin your exciting journey downstream! You tube over various areas of splashing rapids as you paddle your way through the many twists and turns of the river. As you pass under the old stone bridge, the river currents carry you on a relaxing ride towards the Caribbean Sea. Once you reach the river delta, paddle over some small waves that will carry you to the sandy shores of Bengal Bay. You walk along the shore for about 5 minutes before arriving at Bengal Beach for some time to relax, swim in the sea, view some amazing photographs of your tour which are available for purchase.
Participants must be at least 6 years . River rapids are rated class 1 and class 2 (easy to moderate) .River Tubing Tour is a Medium Adventure Rating. Not recommended for pregnant women. Guests should consider their fitness level and medical history before planning participation in this tour. Due to the physical nature of this tour, guests with cardiac conditions, epilepsy, other heart or respiratory conditions, physical injuries, or any other medical condition are cautioned against participation in activities such as river tubing. If there is a concern, guests should consult their physician before choosing any tours which require high levels of physical activity.
